The Plainfield Select Board regular meetings are on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:00 PM at the town office at 149 Main Street (or if a larger number of attendees are expected, at the Town Hall Opera House). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Select Board meetings are currently held remotely on Zoom. (See each agenda for how to participate in our Zoom meetings.) Select Board meetings are governed by the Plainfield Select Board Rules of Procedure and 1 V.S.A. § 312. Contact select board chair Sasha Thayer to request inclusion on the agenda.
The Select Board is the legislative body for the town. Our responsibilities include enacting ordinances, regulations and policies, overseeing town property and personnel, as well as preparing and presenting the annual budget to the town's voters on Town Meeting Day. The Select Board, with the Town Health Officer, also sits as the Board of Health.
