Plainfield Select Board
Because of the COVID-19 virus pandemic, the Select Board voted to cancel the March 23, 2020 meeting. At this time, the Select Board plans to hold the next regularly scheduled meeting on April 13, but will be evaluating if that is possible. Special or emergency Select Board meetings can be called as necessary.
At this point, our primary concern is the health and well-being of all in our community, our employees, and our Fire and Rescue Department volunteers. Please stay healthy!
The Plainfield Select Board regular meetings are on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:00 PM at the municipal building at 149 Main Street (if a larger number of attendees are expected, at the Town Hall Opera House). The Select Board is the legislative body for the town. Our responsibilities include enacting ordinances, regulations and policies, overseeing town property and personnel, as well as preparing and presenting the annual budget to the town's voters on Town Meeting Day. The Select Board, with the Town Health Officer, also sits as the Board of Health.
